Committees of faculty, staff, and students are essential to MPC’s participatory governance. They provide a means for communicating perspectives and voices to those who have the responsibility for making final institutional decisions: the Superintendent/President and the Board of Trustees.

COMMITTEE ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
AS - Academic Senate Faculty representatives make recommendations to the administration and governing board with respect to academic and professional matters
Committee on Committees Subcommittee to Academic Senate; responsible for the recruitment and replacement of faculty appointments to campus standing committees, hiring committees, and special task forces
LGBTQIA+ Gender and Racial/Ethnic Diversity Advocacy Committee Subcommittee to Academic Senate; responsible for increasing diversity and promoting student success by creating a campus climate that nurtures students, faculty and staff who are part of the LGBTQIA+ and/or underrepresented communities at MPC
CAC - Curriculum Advisory Committee Reviews and recommends new courses and academic programs; also reviews curricular revisions and supplements; recommends new curricula to the Governing Board, which gives final approval for courses
AAAG - Academic Affairs Advisory Group Makes recommendations for action to President's Advisory Group on issues of policy (including Board Policy), planning, and resource allocation; makes recommendations to the Vice-President for Academic Affairs on operational issues
ASAG - Administrative Services Advisory Group Advises and informs the Vice President of Administrative Services
PAG - President's Advisory Group Advises the President / Superintendent about issues of college-wide importance
Facilities Committee Subcommittee to PAG; develops campus Facilities Plan, prioritizes and recommends minor capital improvement projects, reviews and recommends scheduled maintenance projects
Budget Committee Subcommittee to PAG; evaluates previous year's budget (revenue, projections, actuals, etc..), timelines, and processes and reports findings to President's Advisory Group; reviews and/or analyzes budget information, including, but not limited to the following: the Superintendent's/President's planning assumptions, the Governor's budget information, and college enrollment trends over the past few years; reviews and revises the budget as related to the Governor's May revise
SSAG - Student Services Advisory Group Advises and informs the Vice President of Student Services
FLEX Committee Develops FLEX Days schedule of events, based on faculty, staff, and administrative input; coordinates FLEX Days activities and keynote speakers
Teaching and Learning Committee College-wide operational committee, which promotes culturally responsive, innovative teaching, counseling, and academic support opportunities focused on academic quality, continuous improvement, and equity; provides guidance to instructors, departments, and programs on outcomes assessment; and makes recommendations for professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning
Marketing Committee Provides input regarding target audiences, messaging, branding, and marketing strategies to achieve the College’s goals relating to marketing and communication
OEC - Online Education Committee Recommending body to the College on matters related to online, hybrid, and web-enhanced face-to-face courses
PRIE - Planning, Research and Institutional Effectiveness Committee Guides MPC's planning, assesses institutional processes, and guides program review
Safety and Emergency Preparedness Committee Reviews safety and health procedures; makes recommendations to the Vice President for Administrative Services
Student Success Committee Provides leadership for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive student success plan and; reviews and makes recommendations on policies and procedures that impact student equity and achievement where appropriate
Technology Committee Assesses campus technology resources and needs; develops an annually-updated comprehensive Technology Plan
