Membership and Committees

The Academic Senate is made up of representatives from MPC’s academic divisions and disciplines and are elected by colleagues in their respective areas.  Senators  serve three-year terms on a staggered schedule, so that one-third of the Senate is elected each academic year.

Current Senate Membership

Faculty membership in standing, ad hoc, and hiring committees at MPC is overseen by the Senate’s Committee on Committees.  Committee recruitments/replacements are selected based on specific committee needs and faculty members' interests, expertise, availability, and diversity.

If you are aware of an open faculty position on a committee or if you would like to volunteer for a committee, please contact the Committees Chair by email at senateexeccommittee@mpc.edu.

Standing Committees

Senate Meetings

The Academic Senate convenes the first and third Thursdays of each month from 2:30-4:30 PM in the Sam Karas Room of the Library on the MPC Monterey Campus.
