Traffic Safety Reminder
As we begin a new semester on our busy campus filled with students, employees, and visitors, we’d like to remind everyone to help keep our community safe by following safety guidelines when driving and walking on and off campus.
Drivers Safety Tips
- Obey posted speed limits (15mph) and all traffic signage
- Yield to pedestrians and cyclists at all times
- Use crosswalks appropriately and stop fully when required
- Follow temporary traffic patterns or construction-related detours
- Avoid distractions while driving, including mobile devices
Pedestrian Safety Tips
- Use marked crosswalks and sidewalks whenever possible
- Look both ways and make eye contact with drivers before crossing streets.
- Stay alert and avoid distractions like phones or headphones
- Use extra caution in parking lots, intersections, and construction areas
- Wear light colored or reflective clothing during evening hours
With increased foot traffic during the start of the term, a little extra patience and awareness can make a big difference. Thank you for doing your part to support a safe and successful semester for everyone.
Campus Safety Escort Service
The Campus Security Department offers night safety escorts to accompany individuals to their destinations on campus during regular working hours. This service is provided by a Campus Safety officer and is subject to availability.

Protecting Our Community
Megan's Law (AB 488), signed by the Governor on September 24, 2004, directs the Office of the Attorney General to provide the public with Internet access to detailed information on the identities and whereabouts of approximately 63,000 registered offenders residing in California.
California's Megan's Law provides the public with certain information on the whereabouts of sex offenders so that members of our local communities can protect themselves and their children. The law is not intended to punish the offender and specifically prohibits using the information to harass or commit any crime against the offender.
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, Monterey Peninsula College posts the Annual Security Report-Campus Crime Statistics. We report this information to the Office of PostSecondary Education Campus Security Statistics Website in cooperation with the U.S. Dept of Education
You can receive a copy of the Annual Security Report-Campus Crime Statistics by contacting MPC Campus Security at (831) 646-4005.
