Safety Related Incident June 18, 2025
We are writing to inform you of a recent safety-related incident that occurred on our Monterey campus on June 18, 2025. Monterey Peninsula College Security, in coordination with the Monterey Police and Fire Departments, responded urgently to a report of smoke and suspicious activity behind the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Lab School. The situation was resolved promptly and safely, and no injuries or property damage occurred.
The individual involved is a known chronic trespasser on our campus, and was apprehended by law enforcement. Please be assured that MPC is taking this matter very seriously and does not tolerate these actions on our campus.
As always, the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff remain our highest priority. Our commitment as an educational institution is to foster a secure learning environment by working proactively to enhance campus safety and uphold the overall wellness of our campus community.
