Where There’s Life, There’s Work for Biology Grads

Monterey Bay’s marine sanctuary teems with life, so it’s no surprise that the region is a hub of study and conservation efforts. Statewide, careers in biology are forecast to grow more than 10% by 2026. Biology is also the foundation for advanced study in health care fields, which represent 10% of all employment in the state.

Growing Skills for Transfer Success 

UC Santa Cruz ACCESS Program

ACCESS (Advancing Community College Education for Science Students) is an academic bridge program for community college students interested in pursuing a career in the biomedical sciences. The ACCESS program has been continuously funded by the NIH from 1994 - 2024.

The program offers research opportunities, mentorships, tutoring, and more to qualifying students.

STEM Tutoring & Study Center

The STEM Tutoring & Study Center is a designated study space offering resources for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math students. Tutors are trained to assist with questions, direct studies, test taking strategies, and techniques for improving self-study.  The center is free to use for drop-in study with peers; fees are charged for tutoring.
