HSI Grant Programs at MPC

As an HSI, MPC is eligible for federal grant funding designed to support Latinx students in higher education. These programs expand and enhance MPC’s academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability.

Ready, Set, Transfer Grant

Ready, Set, Transfer aims to significantly increase transfer and degree completion, with an emphasis on narrowing performance and outcome gaps among Hispanic and underrepresented students. See detailed list of objectives.

Improve MPC/CSUMB Transferability

The Teacher Pathway Program is a Monterey Peninsula College - CSU Monterey Bay collaboration that eases training and school transfer for local prospective teachers.  The program provides a pathway to complete a 5-year teacher training program in 4 or 5 years, earning an associate’s degree from MPC and a bachelor’s from CSUMB.

Engage, Promote, and Connect Grant

The goal of Engage, Promote, and Connect is to infuse the Marina Campus with robust academic and learning support services that significantly expand MPC’s capacity to serve Hispanic and low-income students – ultimately resulting in increased certificate and degree completion rates. See detailed list of objectives.

E=MC2 STEM Grant

E=MC2 encourages under-represented students to study and work in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The program focuses on increasing enrollment, degree completion, and work-based learning opportunities in STEM programs.
