Resources for MPC Students
HSI Grant Programs at MPC
As an HSI, MPC is eligible for federal grant funding designed to support Latinx students in higher education. These programs expand and enhance MPC’s academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability.
Ready, Set, Transfer Grant
MPC’s Summer Jump Start helps Hispanic and underserved students transition to college. Participants receive instructional support, meet other entering first-year students, benefit from advising, and get a head-start with courses. They connect with effective support services that provide a clear path and lead to successful completion of academic goals.
El Centro – the Center for Excellence in Transfer, College "Readiness," and Opportunities – provides support for students to complete degrees and transfer to four-year colleges and universities. El Centro is a culturally responsive learning community for students to thrive and feel a sense of belonging.
Improve MPC/CSUMB Transferability
The Teacher Pathway Program is a Monterey Peninsula College - CSU Monterey Bay collaboration that eases training and school transfer for local prospective teachers. The program provides a pathway to complete a 5-year teacher training program in 4 or 5 years, earning an associate’s degree from MPC and a bachelor’s from CSUMB.
